One thing is certain, I would not be where I am today without the MULTITUDE of resources that are available on the internet. I've had the privilege to speak with industry professionals, mentors, and professors who all believe education goes beyond the classroom.
Below are some of my favorite resources relating to Information Technology, Cyber Security, and Programming. Please feel to free to share these with an aspiring IT professional!
Jon Good doesn't have the subscribers that some of the people on this page have, YET. His content is an educational gold mine. His videos are straight to the point and his lecture style keeps the audience engaged. He has a Security+ series that I used in conjunction with Professor Messer to prepare for my exam. He is currently working on a Network+ series that I will certainly be watching when it comes out.
NetworkChuck has been a repeat resource I tap into when it comes to networking. His style of teaching blends entertainment and education flawlessly. What I appreciate the most is his ability to explain difficult concepts for anyone to understand. I benefited the most from his playlist on subnetting which I used to complete my Packet Tracer project.
PowerCertAnimatedVideos is my go-to when it comes to specific concepts. The channel is built upon bite sized videos, animated with the devices that are being explained. They also have certification courses (albeit, a bit outdated), but nonetheless valuable for a comprehensive overview of A+ and Network+ certifications.
This channel will be releasing an updated version of their Network+ series in September of 2025!
This is the video that completely changed my perspective on Cyber security. In the video, he explains why Cyber security should never be thought of as a standalone industry, rather an extension of Information Technology.
Josh Madakor is an industry veteran who dedicates his channel to helping aspiring IT professionals through a wide range of topics. I have mainly used his channel for home projects, such as the Active Directory Home Lab in the thumbnail.
In an effort to stay as informed as possible on the constantly changing world of cybersecurity , the Cyberwire Daily has become my go-to podcast. The show consists of an up-to-date breakdown of current events pertaining to domestic security, international relations, and malware. They also invite industry professionals to speak on concepts pertaining to their day-to-day operations. On top of the show being extremely informative, it is also very engaging, keeping you locked in for multiple episodes at a time.
